Google Adsense has revolutionized the way people earn online. Anyone can use the available Adsense ad boxes in website pages, and will be able to reap profit from views and clicks by page visitors.
The convenience of WordPress as a website framework extends even to setting up Google Adsense in the website. Inserting a Google ad box in WordPress may be done through any of these methods:
- Using a plugin
- Manually placing the ad code in site sections
If you find it difficult to implement Google Adsense in your WordPress site, here is a guide on how to manually insert Google ads in posts:
Plugin installation
A lot of WordPress plugins that help install and implement Google ads are available for download. Some of the best and most famous plugins include the following:
- Google AdSense by BestWebSoft
- Google AdSense by manojtd
- Google AdSense for Responsive Design
- Google Publisher Plugin (beta) – this is the official plugin released by Google for publishers
Manual ad code insertion
In order to insert ads into your website pages, you need to create ads in your Google Adsense account. Once you have created the ad, copy the ad code that will be placed onto your website pages.
Method 1: Insert using widgets
1. On the Admin Dashboard, hover the mouse pointer to Appearance, and click on Widgets.
2. On the Widgets panel, drag the Text widget tab to your desired sidebar section.
3. Paste the ad code that you copied from Google Adsense into the text field, and click Save.
Method 2: Insert code manually in PHP file
For more advanced WordPress users, you may paste the ad code in any PHP file in the Appearance > Editor panel. Just be careful not to mess up the original code too much, or you’ll get errors in your pages.
